Domain Language
Does the domain language matter when registering an IDN? Is it going to affect IDN.IDN reservations at all? When and If the IDN.IDN is activated for .com .net etc..will the reservations come into play only for the language it is registered in?

No, the language tag is only set during the registration process to check that various laws relating to specific languages are complied with. It is not recorded. So all those that registered in Afrikaans can rest easy.

So when игры.com becomes игры.kom will it also be available in игры.arabic version of .com? how will the registrar separate the russian idns from japanese idns or from hebrew or arabic? Will they make all versions of .com avaliable to the holder of IDN.com or will it be language specific?

Re: Domain Language
I don't know if it will be a free-for-all or whether there will be restrictions on the TLD matching the 2LD language.
If so, it's pretty easy to figure out what language a certain Unicode character belongs to.
And as was said up further, they'd have to do that anyway because the language tag wasn't stored, it was just used during initial registration.

If so, and i hope what you said will happen otherwise a lot of people will end up with Afrikaans domains but how will character domains be separated?

They won't get deleted. You will still be able to renew whatever you got. What legalities are you guys talking about? I have reged .cn .eu .asia... even though its said I can only register these extensions if I am a resident of these countries.

Of course, but if someone decides to challenge your ownership and you have broken the rules, then you lose.

Re: Domain Language
who cares, not like the chinese gov't is going to come after the domain. Don't they require business documents to renew it now anyways?
