CNNIC deleted my .cn!

Dynadot emailed this morning bearing this message:

The Chinese central registry, CNNIC, has deleted the domain 'xn--[weight loss related domain].cn' because the domain "disobeys the 27th Item of the China Internet Domain Name Regulations. " We have removed the domain from your account.

Unfortunately, CNNIC does not refund registry fees in this situation.

Please see this help page for more info:
http://www.dynadot.com/help/question.html?aid=150

Best Regards,
Dynadot Staff
--------

What kind of BS is this! At least have the courtesy of refunding me the not-insubstantial price I paid.

I can't find the '27th Item' of the regulation. The domain is weight loss related, which to me doesn't 'disobey' any of CNNIC's regulations listed on Dynadot's registration agreement under .CN.

Is there any possibility of appealing?

What was the domain if you don't mind sharing?

I guess sharing it wouldn't hurt: xn--z8qt55inih7wm.cn 减肥食谱 weight loss recipes. I only bought it end of 2009 when I started in this game, so it's not a great loss.

Re: CNNIC deleted my .cn!

Some chinese company probably wanted it and of course they are not going to pay foreigners for domains on their own ccTLD.

For all the money I wasted on chinese and japanese domains, I made a hell of a lot of money on arabic domains so I still came out strongly in the black after deciding to focus on latin only IDNs.

So to clarify...

Do you know the reason you lost it? Or you still in process of finding out? Did you make this game a gambling sort of a game? Maybe a mature sex game?

Are you speaking from experience?

By wasted, do you mean they got taken away?

I'm starting to worry about my other .cn's now. Although they only represent a fraction of my portfolio, they tend to be the better ones.

I haven't had time to look into it. Not sure if it's worth my time bothering as I doubt I'll get anywhere.

You've lost me. If you are trying to say I should have known better to invest in .cn's let me assure you that I've plenty of .com's.

No, you misinterprated what I meant.

The link you gave us

http://www.dynadot.com/help/question.html?aid=150

It says you will lose your domain if you make it a gambling website or a porno website. So I am just asking if you did either of those things. i am just trying t help you figure out why you lost it! As well as educate myself on this too!

Re: CNNIC deleted my .cn!

Ugh. That sucks. But I guess the silver lining is that it happened now rather than after you had invested any time or cash developing it.

I've renewed a bunch of .CNs for 5 years at $40 a pop and recently bought one in the aftermarket. Now I also don't feel that secure, and I won't be buying any more, that's for certain.

Perhaps link did not apply to your case. Do you think there could be another reason? Perhaps you did not file the paper work?

No, can't be that as I sent my ID months ago which was accepted. From what Dynadot says it's a violation of CNNIC's regulations, only I couldn't find what item 27 actually is when I briefly looked.

I think you can find it here -
http://www.cnnic.net.cn/html/Dir/2005/03/24/2861.htm

Quote:
1) Those that are against the basic principles prescribed in the Constitution;
2) Those jeopardize national security, leak state secrets, intend to overturn the government, or disrupt of state integrity;
3) Those harm national honor and national interests;
4) Those instigate hostility or discrimination between different nationalities, or disrupt the national solidarity;
5) Those violate the state religion policies or propagate cult and feudal superstition;
6) Those spread rumors, disturb public order or disrupt social stability;
7) Those spread pornography, obscenity, gambling, violence, homicide, terror or instigate crimes;
8) Those insult, libel against others and infringe other people's legal rights and interests; or
9) Other contents prohibited in laws, rules and administrative regulations.
As you can see, this is practically everything. Even commercial ads can be construed as harming national honor and national interests. "Other contents prohibited in laws, rules and regulation" -> everything.

I suggest the safest route is not to park at all. If you wish, you can display a "I love China" webpage or 我爱中国 (in Chinese).

I love China, LOL.

I had a porn name taken away from me, the only .cn I have left is a typo, if 'flow' becomes offensive I am f*cked.

Re: CNNIC deleted my .cn!

Try service@cnnic.cn and simply ask them what rules you infringed and why.

I have a problem with ename.com which was going nowhere, sent email to service@cnnic.cn got a reply the following day in English and already have had a response from ename.com for the first time in months!

No one has sent me any paperwork for my cn's, did you do that voluntarily. I have the whois listed with my corporations name on it hoping that will help.

Re: CNNIC deleted my .cn!

sorry to read of your lost name...

I have had 5 dot CN's /IDN's lifted in the past 3 years...
As a 500+ dynadot acct owner, they credited me each time.

So I would be persistent on that track.

Never got an answer from cnnic.

Reports have that cnnic has 600 new employees reviewing all the dot cn names/ ascii and idn.

After all the easy lifting, the pursuit of the questionable to allow sticking around may be a possibility.
