Row over Russian airport using English alphabet to name terminals

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...terminals.html

And most Americans still think the entire World is going to speak English.

One has to wonder if there is any future for the US economy?

It is required by law to use the cyrillic alphabet? I really like that.

Re: Row over Russian airport using English alphabet to name terminals

Seems this is over how they letter the terminals, not the airport. They appear to want to use numbers.

"In an official complaint to the Russian government, they demanded that the authorities revert to the old system of naming terminals after numbers rather than letters."

And thinking about it, that might require Russian govt websites to move from .ru across to .РФ and redirect their .ru domains to the new .РФ sites?

That would be a gamechanger.

And since they don't have to go through all the "sunrise application" etc because the domains have already be allocated to them, they could do it as soon as .РФ is in the root. Which would give us something to talk about until October or whenever.

We are actually quite happy with the latin alphabet. Most people wouldn't want cyrillic letters on the airport I guess.
