Hello All - IDN Forums

Interestingly I've had my account for over a year now but haven't made much use out of it on the forum so I thought I would start.

I'm new to the whole IDN thing but am interested in seeing exactly where I can go with it. However, the major hurtle seems to be that individuals who are fluent with the language are going to be the ones to really enjoy what ICANN has allowed. Maybe I'm wrong, if I am please let me know how so.

Of course it is not for english speakers.

Well the intended market for IDNs is hopefully the native speaking population of any allowed script but domain collectors regardless of their ability to speak a language are certainly able to profit from smart investments. There are more than enough resources on this forum and on the net to allow anyone to obtain good/prime IDNs.

Welcome to participating on the forums.

yes for non Latin script languages , the ease and convenience with IDN's will be enormous.

Latin script IDN's : Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil ), French, German etc...
Accurate domains with IDN's , permits direct navigation, and improved SEO.

In one case, I thought it was important to get both Ascii and IDN / hyphened and unhyphened for a 2 word name.

The idea of an IDN as a powerful brand name for English content......

Probably not.

But hey I would not be surprised if a Hindi/ Urdu Cricket website based in the UK went huge with an English Ascii transliteration / translation site after the IDN went huge first.
