introducing myself

Hello, I'm new here and thought it would be better to introduce myself to you all. My name is Juan, I'm from Argentina, and even though I started registering domains around 1998, I consider myself a newbie. I've gained great interest in IDNs in the last few months, and most of my registrations have been IDNs since then. This forums seems like a very valuable source of information, and I expect to learn from here, receive advice, help in those cases I can, and maybe even do some business.

Thanks for your time, talk to you all soon.

juan

Re: introducing myself

I put the introduce yourself thread in the beginning to help out but it's fine for new people to start their own threads...

Re: introducing myself

I wanted to introduce myself, I have been developing websites since 98, but did not get into domaining until recently. I started registering IDNs in Feb 06, I thought I would quit at 500, but just past 700 last night (not that they are all good, many .nets and way too many russian names that I am not sure about).

I have learned a tremendous amount from Onley, Edwin, RD, Blast, Giant,......

What prompted me to post is I hope something can be in place to help the newbies like me with translations. I know english and thats about it, the 6 years of german are long gone, so I rely on translators, websites, and overature. I don't want to mislead anyone, I believe I am a IDN addict, and would like to do this awhile. I don't won't to start out with a bad reputation. I wasn't planning on selling for a year or two, but I would like to purchase a couple of names and may need to raise some funds in the month or so.

Again, this site, the content, and the members are first rate (I hope all the members will tell stories of how they made $,$$$,$$$ with IDNs). Maybe I will make enough to buy a ticket to hear "The Rubber Duck" when he gives one of his speeches.

Have a great one!
Tim

Re: introducing myself

Welcome! Post a list of Russian names, I'll tell you which ones (if any) are junk, so you know for sure. Simple.

If you are interested in introduce yourself, you need traffic.
With deleted and expired domains you can get a lot of traffic.
Because deleted and expired domains are still registered in search engines and have existing links.
At http://www.domainannounce.com/ you will find detailed information about their backlinks, IP´s etc.
