Re: Is America becoming a third world nation?

Perhaps it's time to move to another country. People are already talking about getting out.
Yesterday, I overheard conversations from people wanting to move to Costa Rica, Nepal, and Canada.
The talk is in the air.

The biggest factor is the huge unemployment rate, and underemployment rate, which some estimate combined at 45%.

There are many new college grads that can't even get a job at starbucks.

It's an unusual time in America, certainly a different America than I grew up in. In my teen and early adult life I could get a job anywhere doing whatever I wanted.

On a positive note, it seems that in general people are moving toward a helping one another mode, at least in the west LA area, and many groups are starting with sharing food, housing and bartering. The new trend with no workplace to go to, is using ones home as a yoga studio, or art space, or retreat center, or guesthouse, or law office or recording studio, ect -- and this trend is becoming huge, since most American companies have stopped hiring Americans and are moving in the direction of China and India, where there are loads more consumers and cheap labor.

Americans (at least in my neck of the woods) are already finding ways around the current system, and are beginning to shift their gaze from the Almighty Dollar toward into barter and trade. The latest transparencies have show people that the gov't is not working, and that corporations and banks only care about money and emerging markets. I think a similar thing is going on in Europe.

So, as predicted the value of the dollar will continue to drop, pushing Americans into reaching out and widening circles of group support -- realizing everything they thought they needed, they probably don't....meanwhile American corporations are out there convincing billions of Asians, what they can't live without. LOL
