google's hypocrisy

Cracking down on auto-generated pages or pages with little to no original content, while they serve specialised google parking pages themselves with no original content at all, it's not about usefulness, it's about control.

The vague description they use for compliance offers no security at all:
"Your site should also provide a good user experience through clear navigation and organization. Users should be able to easily click throughyour pages and find the information they are seeking."

which is completely subjective.

I got the dreaded 'Google AdSense ad serving has been disabled to blabla.com '-email for one of my pages on parkingminisite, the particular page had no added content except for the feeds that parkingminisite put up there, that didn't go unnoticed apparantly.

Also frustrating ;
"we found violations of AdSense policies on pages such as
http://www.xn--lve-6lad.com/. Please note that this URL is an example and
that the same violations may exist on other pages of your website."

...ffs indicate which sites ?? Now I have to sift through all my sites...

They just don't want the highest paying clicks going to pages like that.

Re: google's hypocrisy

Whatever pages Google deems unworthy of Adsense. It doesn't matter which ones.

It's not about added value, I think we agree on this.

I think google wants to create two pool of "partners", the ones using Adsense which they need to be reasonably respectful of, although they still smartprice, and the ones parking, which they can screw shamelessly

They'd rather have the highest paying clicks coming through parking, so they can take a bigger cut.

Re: google's hypocrisy

Hmm but I don't think their margin is better through parking ? I agree that they probably want to divide the advertisers in two pools.

Re: google's hypocrisy

Well, I don't have hard facts about margin and all that, but I think everybody here has noticed that parking revenues always spike up at the end of the month, which, to me, is an indication that Google spreads the love with parking only when they feel like it (i.e. at the end of the month depending on their advertisers' performance/budget).

Smartpricing is not an exact science. + it has to be somewhat consistent over time. Parking is more straighforward : you give the least possible and at the end of the month, if the advertisers have not reached their goals, you give a little more.

I don't think that an advertiser pays more for a parking click than for a smartpriced-to-death adsense click (somebody correct me if I'm wrong here). In which case, a million parking clicks or a million "low quality" adsense clicks, it's the same for Google, only parking is automatic low rev share, acts as a buffer for the whole ad network, and apparently you can even ask for a f****** refund ! (hello namedrive).

Perhaps half of my rambling aren't accurate, but the truth is, we're a docile bunch if you ask me.

Re: google's hypocrisy

Google jumped the shark with instant search. It sucks; way too many bugs. Am I the only one that tries to type something I know is right yet google gives me something completly non-relevant; and also adds words I don't want; then jumps to something I don't want? It hesitates for a second everytime you try to add or delete a letter completely fucking up trying to get somewhere.

At this point. I'm sick of google's shit. They have messed up thier search engine big time.

Seriously am I though only one?

I think maintaining their 40% time projects will end up taking up 100% of their time. They should focus and finish their products instead of labelling 'beta' on everything.
