This word is actually more vulgar than "F*ck".

Is 'diu' in Cantonese, 'cao' in Mandarin?

Re: 他妈的.net Simplified Chinese for "F*ck".net

Whatever, but "F*ck" is more attractive to English speakers. That's the problem.

Why suddenly so many people's translation skills become so bad?

Re: 他妈的.net Simplified Chinese for "F*ck".net

Actually, if you are a cantonese speaker, there is no translation error for this domain. It is the polite way of cursing the word F*ck. 他妈的 does means what I said it meant.... Of course it carries another meaning which is much more vulgar. I don't think it is apprioriate to discuss it here.

I think that "F*ck" in Chinese is 干(幹), 肏 or 操

[他妈的] could be translate to [Sh*t]

I am a Cantonese speaker. This word is more vulgar when said in Mandarin than in Cantonese.

Besides Cantonese and Mandarin, I speak 3 more Chinese dialects. I can come up with at least 10 more Dot Com bad-word domains with similar meaning to yours. If each one is $5,000, Gee, I could easily make the "F*cking Collector" broke :-)

So is the word sh*t considered more vulgar than fu*k in Chinese? Definately not the case in English. Or does this word have multiple meanings that differ in the language.

Giant -- I'm learning Mandarin through this forum. The important things like swear words first!

The worst swear words in Chinese don't have English counterparts... they're sayings like 'die in the street' and nasty comments about your ancestry.

Diu (fuck in Cantonese - 肏) is pretty commonly used in exclamations and not that offensive.

Hard to believe that fu*k you and eat sh*t don't rank up there in all languages!

Although I can now better appreciate the concept of honored ancestors in places like China versus the melting pot ancestory in the US.

Re: 他妈的.net Simplified Chinese for "F*ck".net

If you just write it means one thing that could relate to sex & you know it has other meanings. Isn't it just proper to write what it means instead of just picking one phrase??

I don't know about Chinese, but Russian swear words are great for PPC.

肏 <- what is this?

Many cantonese sayings are only pronounceable but without a character support.

"Diu" is one of them.

My two cents. 他妈的 shall mean "darn", "shit". It's just a sentence expressing your anger. Ya know, translation is not to translate the words one by one, but to translate the meaning behind.

"操" is right but "日" is wrong. I think you should mean 干 (simp.) / 幹 (trad.).

"Without character support" meaning it can't be written?

Never knew that... what if a publication wanted to quote somebody who says it?
What would they use to convey that?

Yea, they can't be written.

publication don't do foul language.

But people in Hong Kong like using a replacement word "屌" to express it. But "屌" in Taiwan means "cool", "awesome".
