Re: Southsudan.com in arabic - A new country

Two word Arabic domains are less desirable. And these two words look like they stick together - making them difficult to read.

جنوب السودان

vs

جنوبالسودان

A drop IMO

Sorry, but I thought that the whole point of the separation is that the South is not an Islamic Culture. I think it is highly unlikely that Arabic will be the official language.

But who is going to argue with Iowa State Daily. Is Iowa Arab speaking?

Re: Southsudan.com in arabic - A new country

جنوبالسودان
can't be read easily because the two words are stuck together and is considered a single word
as the first word ends by the letter ب

جنوب السودان with a space between the two words is the correct term.

General speaking, words that end by letters like ب,ت,ث and many others usually stick
with the following word so the two words must be separated.
others that end by letters like د,ذ,ر,ز and others usually don't stick and may not be separated.

Have you ever spoken with someone from Iowa? It seems that way sometimes.
