Overpricing Overseas

I went to a corner store and bought CREST toothpaste for $5 CAD

Just out of curiosity I checked out the pricing in Russia for the same product:

Crest Sensitivity Extra Whitening Toothpaste 116 гр — 1200 руб =$40

http://www.medicine-pro.ru/crest-sen...ng-toothpaste/

If you guys don't mind checking the price in your country for the same product, just interesting to see on how different the prices are in different parts of the world.

Thanks
DK

Re: Overpricing Overseas

Crest Toothpaste...$3-$4 per tube at CVS pharmacy.

Cheaper with discount coupons from manufacturer or CVS....or SALE price.

Link for 40+ types of Crest Toothpaste:

So for Russian "in country" buyers, add a zero.

Then it would be cheaper than elsewhere. Obviously Russians eat a whole tube of toothpaste each morning in order to get rid of that vodka breath. :D

BTW: it's around $5 in Germany as well.

Re: Overpricing Overseas

Americans do it all the time.

Just about any techy product in the UK is the same price in pounds as it is in dollars in the US. It is even impossible most often to buy the product online from the US particularly Microsoft downloads if you have a credit card based in the UK.

Then they wonder why they have a fucking trade deficit.

Not only that but taxes on such excessive profit are not paid locally but repatriated.

If there is any other source of the product which is not rediculously more expensive then I never buy US on principle.

Re: Overpricing Overseas

I noticed that problem too, when trying to buy something from Europe, non of the European online payment systems would accept my North American credit cards Amex, Visa or Mastercard. So between the west and the east, there is some kind of a disconnect with online payment systems and their banks which makes it very difficult for a regular user to shop overseas.
