Re: .cn regs
Thanks. thats what i was using, just seemed like everything is always taken under .cn, so i wasnt sure if there was something going on. guess not, just a little behind
also, any further word on the issue of the chinese govt attempting to block IDN .com parked pages, as this could be a big deal with those of whom have quite a few Chinese IDN .coms , myself included ?
Also its seems it could throw up a red flag if they are going to take this kind of action against anything other than .cn tld's or am i mistaken?

Anyone found any sites to register .cn (idns) less expensive than the $39.95 at domainsite?

Re: .cn regs
domaindiscount21.net has lower fee for bulk regs (I use it). but the cheapest are available for some chinese registrars, but there's transfer restrictions between inside china registrars and outside china registrars.
It's possible that it's better to reg at Chinese registrars. But I won't know.
Sorry Bill: it's https://www.domaindiscount24.net/

Yes, if they do this we all suffer. This kind of action could be against China's own laws, but I am not sure, better ask the experts.

I thought they are blocking any namedrive/sedo parked pages, regardless of the tld. Am I wrong?

Re: .cn regs
you are probably right, that they are blocking all sedo/namedrive parked domains regardless of tld. any of the experts want to weigh in on this issue?

If they are blocking parked-domain sites and not IDN.com, then there's nothing we need to complain. Let me tell you why.
China is changing for the better, the country is developing very fast, the government is very busy serving the business sector, but is not doing enough to help ordinary people's daily life. The government strongly supports e-commerce and all types of web uses, but the ordinary people, especially the young and children are very vulnerable to online gambling and pornography which the government has no better way to deal with. So, the most economical and effective way to protect the innocents is block the gambling and porn sites' IP. Good job I should say!

Re: .cn regs
They only block namedrive and sedo parked names.
One of the possible ways to reduce your chinese domain to zero value (what does one do with a chinese name that can't be accessed from China?) is to put up parking pages with porn and gambling.
So you better take off namedrive and sedo dns from your pages ASAP.

The likelihood of this happening is extremely slim, even if you believe forum rhetorics on the big bad CCP.
Business and politics are treated differently by the CCP.
