Well they do say a fool and his money are soon parted. These bidders sound like complete morons. Random mental patients and grade 4 students would know you can't buy Casino.com for 2k.

Well it will take the new owner about 24 hours to realize that he has ZERO traffic and just bought a $2k

"Traffic? What do you mean by traffic?" <- That's what goes trough the buyer mind if she could read your post.

Tax ride off? I mean even if it is your first domain with the weird xn--, would you not google it b4 paying 2k? the answer is ranked on the first page #3,#4 for Casıno.com. It's just too sketchy.

Fools and their money are often parted in Casıno's!
Just another one added to the list, sadly the "seller" may just get away with it!

Well, the buyer probably googled the term from the sales page which was in ASCII capital letters. Also Google seems to automatically show the results for "casino" when searching for "casıno". Surely misleading but still pretty damn stupid as no one in a clear state of mind would expect to get CASINO.COM for 2k.

I don't care about the seller. The ones winning on their first casino visit eventually become the best possible casino customers losing more than what they won before.
The real sad thing is the fact that Sedo is still totally incapable of distinguishing the crap IDNs from the quality ones. They clearly don't understand IDN and believe this is some kind of synonym for look-alike shit. As you know it's an almost impossible task to get any IDN (apart from Umlaut.de ones maybe) listed at their "premium" auctions.
BTW:
ᖴ.COM
XN--DPE.COM
Current bid: €1,200
Offer Description:

ONE LETTER DOT COM DOMAIN! No more to say!
F as Facebook, Face, Flights, France, Fr, Finance, Flowers, Forex, First, Federal, Fedex, Female and many more...

How did this attract bids on at Sedo? Was there some other kind of promotion?

I am searching for a word that would describe it but can't quite remember but I think it starts with sh and ends with ll.

Taking along time to complete, no change in the whois.
Would be a real shame if it has gone pear shaped!

Glad you folks are here to be the IDN police, but this member would appreciate it if you stop bumping this kind of garbage.
Call me Scrooge, but bugger off hohoho and the even the folks that spend the time of day shutting him/her off.
Bottom line is, if you ignore it, it will go away. If you fight it, it will keep getting pushed to the top of the discussion board. If you find an interesting change in whois or something, start a new thread, don't give the offending OP the added exposure none of us want.

do you not think that there is a scenario whereby the fool that is buying, stumbles across an indexed page with their domain name in that is being publicly called out as a fraud, that results in the buyer wising up and walking.
or
the name and shame of Sedo allowing this, encourages a policy change at Sedo
IMO, I think this should continue, because a) it's amusing b) things may change [probably not, but stranger things have happened]

I was being facetious,if this thread or similar has resulted in someone not getting crapped on by buying garbage names then it has had it's value.
I use my blog to make sure as many of them (crap IDN names) as possible get indexed as currently there at least 4 on auction at Sedo, around 20 more in "featured names" .
I was told by a senior person at Sedo that they were addressing the matter but as yet that is certainly not happening and seems to be getting worse. As Sedo have been advised on numerous occasions about this problem perhaps they consider it is acceptable which would be really sad.
I would like to think that they have simply yet to address the problem and find a solution because it would appear that nobody on their compliance team knows anything about IDN unless it has an umlaut.

They have been advised, but don't seem to care.
It is sad that they knowlingly share in the proceeds of these "scams" to the unwitting.

I'm sure Sedo will eventually solve this problem by banning idn (or as they would call it: mdn) from their website.
