Eventually the paradoxes of globalization have to be dealt with, and since the US economy is heavily dependent on IP law (both enforcing and infringing), the US will pass an act against IP infringement.

Fortunately, until now (and I believe for the next few years, as the US financial crisis has not reached the political point, despite Occupy Wall Street), no Act has reached the stage of viability - House or Senate Floor approval.

But the IP holders have a legitimate claim, and they have done much damage to themselves by traditional lawsuits of individuals (like the baby dancing video). The bottom line is that Youtube, Google and the like have to find a way to legitimize themselves with the IP (Intellectual Property) owners.

It would be incredibly inexpensive to do so when spread across the number of daily users.

If this is not done in boardrooms with scalpels and forceps, it will be done on the US House floor with a hammer, in a far worse bill than SOPA, which is easily circumscribed by the methods mentioned in the second video.

SOPA will fail, and a far worse version, perhaps knocking out entire IP Address blocks will come to the floor. Depending on the state of the US economy at that point, it may pass, bringing a real hammer to e-commerce.
