Will xxx help idn implementation?

Do you think ICANN will be more pro-active in regards to IDN development and implementation after the debacle of not adopting the '.xxx' extension. They are really taking some flak for this failure, particularly vocal in the international community.

Anyone thinking that the negative feedback they got on this might put them into a more sympathetic and supportive view towards moving forward on IDN implementation (in a more timely fashion) as a result?
