That is exactly why the forum needs to display a time. It then becomes the forum/server time that everyone relates to. Without such a feature, everyone ends up being confused as to what time others are referring to.

"48 hours left" is fine if you happen to know exactly when something was posted and your maths are good enough ....

The actual time the forum/server uses is relatively unimportant - it could be GMT, or something else. The important thing is to establish a time we can all refer to.
