Billige - Cheap

If anyone native here who can confirm this, what is the MAIN term for cheap in German, is it Billige? if not, what's the main term for it...

Thanks,

Re: Billige - Cheap

billige -> can't stand alone

the stand-alone adjective would be 'billig'. It does have a negative connotation (low quality) though so I'd say 'günstig' is better.

Thanks a lot buddy for the detailed input, but what about using Billige with other words, lets assume I wanna say Cheap Cars, Will "Billige Autos" be correct? which is even more accurate, "Billige Autos" or "billig Autos"??

You're welcome. As you can imagine it depends on the words being combined. In general you can combine it with any plural term so 'billige Autos' is totally correct. Using the singular requires some knowledge of German grammar which is a pain for any foreigner so better stay away from singular.
