How will IDN.IDN effect the value of IDN.com

I'm sure it's been discussed before, but I'm not finding it.

For example how will Moscu.kom effect the value of Moscow.com and what will happen to your current IDN.coms

Dozens of posts on the subject, but if you own idn.com, you get idn.kom(cryllic) if you wish. If you have the com, you are the only person who can 'activate' the .kom.

Search "Verisign" and "aliasing", or many good threads were started by member 555, check threads he started.

That's IDN.IDN affecting the value of ascii.ascii ?

They're different target markets.

As for IDN.IDN affecting the value of [IDN].com, the only reason [IDN].com exists is because IDN.IDN wasn't possible at the time. IDN.IDN will eclipse [IDN].com once adopted.

We're talking non-latin languages here, of course.

What then becomes of your current registered IDN.com once IDN.IDN is adopted?

Not sure whether you will be able to choose to de-activate the .com, and just keep the .IDN-com?

Not that I would, but some people might like to .... eventually .......

But why would VeriSign give this option? They are much better locking in the .com income I guess.

I think it is going to be the $$$ , so Verisign will design it to get the idn.idn then to drop the dot com, will probably be a 'blockage ' fee or unavailable ...so they get the $16 to $20 per year for the duo.
