wtf

when you write wtf, you often want to put a mix of question marks and exclamation marks straight after, right?

I bet you are saying it right now, wtf is DG talking about?!?

I am talking about the Interrobang, a character that combines the question mark and exclamation point into one single character.

You'd expect it to be a modern thing, but its quite old, and used to appear on typewriters, and then died out for some reason when computers came along.

Interesting enough for me to add to your rep. I even considered sharing the info, but then got lazy. Cool stuff.

Re: wtf

I use interrobangs when necessary. They’re easy enough to type on Linux (or any system running X11), you just have to enable a compose key with “setxkbmap -option compose:ralt” and then you can type AltGr followed by !? to give you ‽, or followed by ?! to give you ⸘. Wrote a blog post on it some months ago: http://shobute.com/posts/how-to-type-unicode-on-linux
