HUGE GENERIC or tiny imitation... House.com/Homes.com? (In Japanese and Chinese) - IDN Forums

Hello fellow IDNers...

I realize I haven't purchase the most popular of the "house/home/real estate" related terms... but I do believe these have some great value/potential. I am looking for native advice on the follow purchases of:

xn--fct8m.com
xn--fct8m.net
家屋.com
家屋.net

I've used many different translators and they reveal this term as:
House (In Japanese)
Home or Homes (In Chinese)

I get these results in quotes:
809,000 at google.cn
5,560,000 at google.jp
5,510,000 at google.com

466 Japan Overture
A few Chinese Overture

Regardless, this looks like it could be a great domain to develop because of all the related content in these searches... or I may possible sell these. I'm not sure yet... would have to be the right offer. Anyway, thoughts and comments are welcome... Thanks!

So, what does 家屋 mean? Can it be compared to 'house' vs 'domicile' or 'house' as in 'on the house' or what?

It means house. Looks to be used in Japanese. Here are ovt mixed word uses.
466 ovt today could be significant traffic when IE7 multiplier hits so don't give up.
Giant is telling you the Chinese dont use this term, but wait on Japanese opinion.

Here are some ovt with your term mixed, but its not a heavily searched for as an individual word.
A Japanese owns #1 below, 19k ovt, reg'd in 1995.

typin to the idn .com ovt would go up

but why would the term w/o extension go up? People in those countries can search in their native language and go to any URL.(minus idn.com unless they have ie 7)

That's the misconception.

Whenever I make a comment, I always owe you an explanation. And my comment is mostly base on the Chinese meaning, although I do check Japanese dictionary first, and more than 50% Kanji keep their original Chinese meaning and usage.

Suppose the people of Hawaii discover something strange about the sand and sea water around the island, water is no more salty and sand becomes darker :-), so the government set up a team of experts to investigate. In English, we can call this investigation "Water and sand investigation", or "Water sand investigation".

In the same way in Chinese (or Japanese), "沙和水調查" --> "沙水調查".

During the investigation, we see a lot of Google results for "沙水調查", and even some OVT for "沙水". But does it mean "沙水" is a term? And worth registering?

No, "沙水" is not a word, it can have meaning when we say "沙水調查". And when the investigation is over, "沙水" written together will disappear from the internet.

==> "家屋調査" will not disappear, but "家屋" itself is not a word, it's "家" + "屋".

"家屋" means "home and house".

"土地家屋調査" is "land, home and house survey/investigation/examination/inquiry"

just like the word "City" is used alot in chinese writing - you would see millions of results but people wouldn't say the city part out loud.

If you think you have Home .com this late in the game then good luck. The chinese natives got the primary terms a while ago.

Thanks for your comments Jeff. I stated this clearly earlier. Furthermore, I'm not talking about value of Chinese name (which does merit value also)... I'm speaking mainly on the Japanese side... and this being a dual name only adds more value.

If the native speakers say it is NOT of great value, and even you admit it not the most popular term, then it is no use believing it is of great value or potential. Don't be stubborn. Admit your mistakes, move on and register better things.

Google 4,950,000 for "Blast from the Past".
