Re: $4.5 Million

I think that's a fair asking price for one of those $18,000 domains.

YES... 101domain.com shows the prices.

Re: $4.5 Million

From my understanding, 101domain's play is to offer lots Specialized TLDs, cctlds etc, we have it all kind of thing. They probably gets lots of niche customers that way - people with little domain experience.

Youll notice they are always among the first to put out nGTLD inf about launch dates, pre-registration etc. To achieve that, a certain amount of guesswork is involved for sure, look what happened with .みんな for example.

One thing clear is that VRSN has allowed premium pricing. What the rules are and how they will be applied by each registrar, we dont know.

Re: $4.5 Million

Thanks for that link. It seems they are asking for a one time fee on the premiums with a regular renewal fee. I have quite a few where they are asking $225 up front and $15.39 renewals. The highest premium fee I saw for my domains was one of $900. I will be purchasing the ones at the regular price ($13.99) but won't be paying any premium fees.

Re: $4.5 Million

Whoever decided which domains are premium is on drugs. 東京.コム (Tokyo.com) is only $13.99 and NOT a premium.

Re: $4.5 Million

can't wait for nn,nnn, LL,LLL,LLLL wannabee crowd to go after all the domains in IDN top level dot com's to see if they can get $xx,xxx buyers to bite during and after the general availability.

I would think all of the letter/ number owners are completely disinterested in NN.IDN or
LL.IDN for their holdings.

that will make a nice overhang and fine mess for late entrants to that LSD flashback party.

Weirdly, L.コム, NN.コム or N.コム have the highest prices I've seen on 101: $37,500.

Yet LL is unavailable.

Yes 3.コム is priced at $37,500 for example. Verisign will make a good bit off the non-idns alone, maybe even more than on the idn.idns. But in a week or so we should know for sure if these are just 101Domain premium fees or Verisign fees.. I'm betting they are Verisign fees.

Re: $4.5 Million

LL is unavailable due to ccTLD's being LL.

fairly random pricing. They really don't know what they are doing or they don't care.

I think "mainstream" domainers will view .IDN as an opportunity but not as we would expect. I predict they will start buying out LLL and NNNN in .IDN and ignore most of the IDN opportunities that will be left.
