There are many sites which have both ASCII and IDN domains. I have sometimes wondered how well maintained the IDN is. Some sites I have encountered in the past neglect their IDN and so the IDN stops working but their ASCII continues to work as normal.
So, my thought for an experiment, is to make a positive impact on a site's IDN. Your participation would be appreciated.
I am thinking of a specific site, namely Korea University, which has the IDN
http://고려대학교.한국 It is well integrated into their site ie they are using relative addressing so 고려대학교.한국 shows in the address bar.
We can collectively improve the Alexa Traffic Ranking of their IDN, which currently stands at #2527573
I am thinking the experiment would run for a month which takes us to 16th September.
Participation involves:-
① installing the Alexa Traffic Rank extension
② visiting
http://고려대학교.한국 2 or 3 times a day for a month
③ promoting
http://고려대학교.한국 on your social media/websites
Basically it is about getting
http://고려대학교.한국 noticed, both within and outside of Korea University.
My gut feeling is that few people even within Korea University know they have an IDN.
Together I believe we can get
http://고려대학교.한국 noticed and thus raise awareness of their IDN and IDNs in general
