I haven't actually got a Farsi Dictionary, I don't think, but much of my Arabic and Urdu is probably Farsi.

On ordinary Google I am getting higher scores than you have indicated. Results are clearly Farsi and of the right order. Searching on your terms and the translations given together gives enough joint results to indicate that the terms are very closely related and probably synomous.

Farsi and Arabic are two seperate languages...... I know you would know this.

Farsi is mainly spoken in Iran and uses alot of arabic letters.

It actually uses all of the Arabic Alphabet and some of its own besides.

It is an unrelated languages but nevertheless shares a great deal of vocabulary, as we all do in the modern world. See if you can work these out?

کار

ون

These were researched as Urdu, but have most results for Farsi, but are actually English.

If you have got those then perhaps you can get this one?

Re: Persian Appraisal

Thanks, I appreciate the comments. Now the $1,000,000 question is: how do you place a value on these? Is there any good way to do that? I mean, I understand that ultimately the value is what someone is willing to pay and what you are willing to accept at a given transaction, but is there any ballpark idea? Any sales or appraisals that this would be close to?

Thanks again!

Well to value a domain, you have to try to evaluate it relevance to an economy as the importance of that economy as a unit. The degree to which that that economy has gone on line is also important.

Farsi is widely spoken, but it is most significant within Iran, where about 40M or two thirds of the population speak it. That means that you cannot equate it with Arabic, Chinese or English. Iran's economy has been held back by wars and ideology and alienation within from the West. It is, however, a largely petroleum based economy. Oil is expensive and Iran has plenty. The online community is well developed. Iranian domains will therefore be in demand, but much of that demand will be internal, but should be capable of being exploited through PPC parking services once they start offer truely global services. We are almost there on that one I think.

How much is one.com worth? Well I couldn't tell you that, but I would hazard a guess that its Farsi equivalent will be worth somewhere around 5% of that amount. I would also hazard that is still quite a hefty sum.
