Some numbers may give a better picture of what is happening with Korean Hangul TLD domains.
• .한국 and .kr (South Korea)
https://한국인터넷정보센터.한국/jsp/eng/domain/kr/statistics.jsp
April 2021 .kr domains - 1085740
April 2021 .한국 domains - 21081
There was significant growth in both kr and 한국 domains during 2018 but a significant decline during 2019. I guess there was a special promotion during 2018.
• .닷컴 (Verisign's Korean dot com)
https://namestat.org/xn--mk1bu44c
2021-05-04 .닷컴 domains - 4584
There was a peak during 2017 which I guess was the result of a special sunshine promotion. General availability was 2016-08-30
• .닷넷 (Verisign's Korean dot net)

2021-05-04 .닷넷 domains - 1173
