Usage and Acceptance of .コム

I searched for sites with the .コム extension and was quite disappointed. I used the search term "site: .コム" in Google. The results seem to be mostly very low quality sites that look like Indonesian gambling/slot sites with few real and developed Japanese language sites.

I wonder if consumers are just not aware of the .コム extension or if it has been outright rejected.

香水.コム Perfume

英語.コム English
