Korean Domain Name 한글 도메인 네임

A recent new entry in the Majestic Million (Tue 25 July 2023) https://majestic.com/reports/majesti...--3e0b707e&oq= is http://건강식.한국 (health food.korea)

The company name is "The Natural Flavor YS Co Ltd" (주)자연미약선연구원. In the logo at top left the company name is displayed as (주)자연味약선연구원 where 미 has been replaced with the Chinese character 味 which means taste or flavor.

This company is active in several social care projects such as those listed at http://건강식.한국/bbs/content.php?co_id=0202

There is an interesting and large family of Korean Domain Names. Each has three Korean hangul labels. The root domain for each is 웹.한국 (web.korea). The 3rd level label is a word or phrase.

There is some small variance in how these sites work so I will take one as an illustrative example

http://항균도마.웹.한국 (antibacterial cutting board.web.korea)

Visiting this site results in a listing of a " bestTop 40" listing of boards resulting from the search term 항균도마 which is the 3rd level label. The listing takes 2 forms.
① 40 products where each has an image and each is an active clickable link. The link resolves to a coupang search with 항균도마 being the search term.
② A text list of 40 products and each is an active clickable link. The link resolves to a coupang search with a more specific search phrase.

Coupang 쿠팡 https://coupang.com is a Korean e-commerce company and is the largest online marketplace in Korea https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coupang

I therefore reason that the above is a technique for monetizing Korean Domain Names. I think it may be an implementation of the "Coupang Partners" program https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...300681879.html

I have browsed through the results of https://www.google.com/search?q=site:.웹.한국 and it appears that the majority and likely all 웹.한국 contain links to https://coupang.com
