I tend to be a branding/marketing/idea-guy kind of person, and one of the things that jumped out at me from this name and the description is a MySpace-type of site with a little Match.com thrown in the mix.

I know it isn't really an appraisal, but I think the branding potential is huge!

Match.com has been especially agressive in fighting Match.com domain copycats... They are the kind of losers that probably would go after their IDN in japanese since they advertise to the japanese market.

Nanpa isn't as formal as your initial description makes it sound. It's more like just "picking up chicks" regardless of venue. And that activity is as common as air for young people after all given that we japanese men are such incredibly sexy beasts.

In the online context, I have to think that this keyword refers 85% to people who are looking for the porn category (yes it is an actual sub-genre of porn in japan and often very well done). The other 15% are probably looking for techniques.

Well it's not my description it's answers.com.

As far as it being 85% porn, google images would disagree with this as there is only one nude picture within the first 5 pages of results.

Although, I am trying to decide what to do with this domain. I believe it would be one I would like to professionally develop. I have several ideas I just don't know which road to take. What to do, what to do.

Rhys is Japanese, give him some credit for understanding this. I am sure he has nampa'd a few times himself! If you dig into the sites there are "how to" , "what to say" basically picking up chick lines. Check out the site I put up, there is some basic training on the home page at bottom left.

I can't comment on the use of it on the internet though.
I haven't ran across the term on the net.
