I'm pretty sure that しん doesn't mean anything. There are kanji pronounced しん but しん is not a substitute for any of those kanji.

The reason why しん has 3000+ OVT is because it is used as a first name pretty commonly without a kanji assignation. Hope that helps.

Just please promise me never to auction it off as "truth" or "heart" because that would be false advertising.

Names can have value as well. Won't necessarily earn the owner money but they can be status symbols a bit like car number plates and they are quite sought after for email addresses. Family names in particular are often used to sell huge numbers of email address. This sort of thing John@Smith.name

A first name? Male? Female? Is it generationally bound? Nick name? How does one pronounce it (I know zero japanese, as you can tell from my early JP regs)?

Not saying it won't have value (I own a few choice names too), just that it would be misleading to sell it under meanings ascribed to kanji. That's all.

Re: Japanese translation help しん

I never intended to sell it as something it was not, rhys. It was one of my first regs and I got it as the translation truth/core. I was redoing my ND native keywords and couldn't remember why the heck I bought it. Just wanted help on translation to see if I had any chance to get targeted ads. I also wanted to avoid TM issues. I am sure it will drop from my portfolio around reg time.

Is it a famous person's name or just a popular name?

I think you can regard single word names either family or individual as Generic. If you have combos then it all starts to get a lot more specific and in those cases there might be grounds for WIPO, particular in the case of celebrities.
