Damn. I keep forgeting using ++!
And OVT misleaded my also as it auto turns トラヴェル into トラベル !!
I guess this tells me I (and we) have to be very carefull about OVT results...

After seeing Gamma post, explains why ovt seemed kind of low.
But, definately some relevant sites for travel agencies etc..

Results 1 - 10 of about 85,900 for ++"トラヴェル".

I get plenty of results for トラヴェル on Ovt but not a blacked out one
トラベル gives 23,972 Ovt so how does it automatically turn トラヴェル into トラベル?

They look totally different, to me anyway..

Overture is doing some sort of strange spelling autocorrection with the results according to how the term sounds in English.

Japanese have difficulty pronouncing "v" sounds, like "ve". Most often "v" sounds like "b". So, "ve" would often be pronounced "be" [sounds like beh not bee].

Katakana "be" is ベ

Katakana "ve" is ヴェ

The moral is, when you see "v" sounding characters and the results seem a little off, do the substitution with the "b" sounding character and see if the results are more friendly.

The double plus forces google to search for the Exact Exact characters, instead of merging things as per the ordnary algorithm. We've discussed this several times on the forum.

"cafe" matches café, cäfe, cafë, cafe
++"café" matches café only

The same thing happends when Simplified and Traditional are matched in results.

Anyway, is this トラヴェル - Travel worth something? $50 bucks maybe?!
