Re: Offensive Terms per Nationality
I don't know where that list came from but apart from 2 or 3 in regards to Japanese I never heard of them, & if so Japanese wouldn't know what the hell someone was talking about either.
I would really suggest people not(edit) try to register terms they "think" are offensive just to sell to someone. I've registered domains I actually don't want to be used in a negative way but I just think it's bad to register them for resell, but to each their own...

I think regulation of the webspace should be left to those that are mandated to do it.

Re: Offensive Terms per Nationality
None of them had google trends, and I'm not really into offending the cultures that I'm trying to do business with. But thanks.

Re: Offensive Terms per Nationality
Proactive protective registrations of offensive words to prevent abuse are a good idea, IMHO.
The NAACP hold an obvious one.
And at less than $10 a year, it's a cheap form of community service if you decide to do it.

Yeah, I found out the hard way through translation error that I own "group rape" in japanese it has 300k ovt but it will never be used to promote such acts. Anyone know of a rape prevention org to forward the domain to would be helpful.

Re: Offensive Terms per Nationality
That is a popular genre in Japan.
What you are saying is like this: I won't promote horror movies because I am against people who commit murder.

Dude. Arguing horror movies and murder. Against a sex crime and condoning it is like saying it's alright to profit from childporn.com in japanese because you can't stop pederasts from doing it anyway.
As far as it being a genre. I'm not local but I can imagine what it entails.
Not going to argue anymore points on this subject. But have fun debating more with yourself.

Re: Offensive Terms per Nationality
The industry is lucky some stiff prude didn't just grab all the sex domains early on and lock them up with public service messages.

We can agree on that. Hopefully I got most the main japanese ones. Plan on developing all of them. Except that one.

>But have fun debating more with yourself.
That would be a mass debate then, would it?
Or would it?
Would it?

"Mass Debating" is fun by yourself, but "mass debating" is more fun with others involved. I think everyone enjoys a good "mass debate" especially after a long day at the office and your home alone.
