Re: some acronyms/single characters

Congratulations on the sales Bramzio.

I have to say though, I fail to see what profitable legitimate use ѕex.net or xn--ex-doc.net could be put to.

Interestingly, the dot com seems to be unregistered and blocked.

Best Regards

Re: some acronyms/single characters

Thanks but actually, only [ 09/17/05 ę.net 350 ] was mine .

I agree, sex.net and the likes are not meaningful at all, but somehow these names fetch the most money on ebay.
I sold héll.com/net for $22 just recently, I am glad I got rid of it.

Re: some acronyms/single characters

speculation: if sex.com gets tens of thousands of type-ins a day, perhaps the IDN would get a hundred or two a day... from people used to typing the letter e with an accent, or just curious as to what it leads to.

Re: some acronyms/single characters

Nice theory, but I believe it is the S which is the imposter. It would seem that it is a character from the Macedonian Language.

10/06/2005 ȑ.com 150 - afternic ; buyer is reluctant to pay, claims he thought he was buying r.com (non-IDN), the description of the auction
was correct so I am still negotiating.

14/06/2005 t.com 200 - afternic

Re: some acronyms/single characters

Must be a complete arsehole. r.com is IANA reserved so it is not registered. A quick, whois would have told him that! If r.com was available it would probably be worth the thick end of $100M.

Re: some acronyms/single characters

Are these Greek? If so my Maths teacher would turn in his grave!

Actually because of their long close association with Mathematics and Physics, some of these letters have strong connatations. I hope your not selling out too cheap here!

They're not mine, I am still collecting (pm me for ??).

just checked and v.net is indeed the Greek letter v, way underpriced indeed, the rest are latin characters.

10/20/2005 ぃ.com (advertised as i.com...) $300.00 (afternic)
10/20/2005 ぅ.com (advertised as u.com....) $300.00 (afternic)

The same buyer :| . Advertising, benghali/indian/.. characters as latin characters, tjeez, yes it's in the description but
"VERY RARE! One Character .COM IDN (ぃ.com)" may be a bit confusing as the only reference...

Glad to see the Bengali characters are starting to attract attention. We have loads of single Hind characters including al the single numbers with the exception of 1.com.

Re: some acronyms/single characters

This character is Romany or Skolt.

As Skolt only has about 400 speakers in the Arctic, I think we can assume the main interest will be Romany.

Is that an actual language character or just part of the phonetic alphabet?
