Special promotion - $600 for whole package (valid only today - forum time). First come first served.

A chance not to be missed, the price is just 2-years of .jp registration*. My advice - stop wasting time/money on OVT tool generated names. :-)

*City names are reserved for .jp.

More information provided:

Out of the five, four are "Core Cities" or 中核市 (there are only 35 core cities in the whole of Japan)

1). Toyama
2). Oita
3). Nara
4). Miyazaki

Core cities are cities of Japan designated by Article 252, Clause 22 and the first term of the Local Autonomy Law.

To be a core city, the city must satisfy the following stipulations:

The population must at least 300,000.
If the population is less than 500,000, the total area must be at least 100 km² in area.

The city is designated through the submission from the city and approvals from the assemblies of the city and the prefecture.

Sale in progress, almost concluded.

Dave already almost sold out his lot at $150 a city - there isn't an infinite number of Japanese cities, furthermore, i am selling state capitals (only 47 of them) and not just regular cities.

It's common sense that when supply is limited, price goes up. One can dig out 5000 super generic dictionary names, and another 50,000 variants of OVT, but for cities - there are only so many - you know, that handful.

An economically poor city like Bogota.com goes for 159k...

Yes, the fact that Dave isn't selling them is also highly significant. Got to hold something back for when the market starts to go CRAZY.

I know I am biased because of my holdings, but people will look back and just wonder how stupid they were not to hoover up everything they could afford!

Dave

Well, prices are already creeping up.

Prices of top Chinese cities .COM have already exceeded $3k - i made a $3k offer to a guy, but got rejected after a yes, and then a no after a week of thinking .... the rest aren't selling. It's a supply and demand thing.

And the time is running short - DNF already added an IDN subforum - very soon, the big boys will come in and we all know how much money these big boys got.

The game plan is now "land grab", grab as much cities/states/provinces as you can, because if you do not take someone else is going to, and when that happens, if you offer to buy - do you think he is going to sell to you?

It's all common sense.

Yes, and once the traffic revenues kick in most porfolios will get locked down. There won't be any imperative to sell anything.

It's more than just that - city names are not a commodity that most domains are - local people keep them for many reasons, and do not sell.

Found a really cool flash video on the city homepage of Oita city (409,000 大分市.com). Sent to a prospect and like to share with everyone. Hope this conveys the message they are not villages.

Thanks for enquiring.

Price is still $600 for all 5 domains (works out to an average of $120 per city).

Received a SOLD by email, but the buyer didn't follow up.... So, i'm still waiting for a response, but as long as SOLD is not indicated publicly on the forum, the domains are still available.

All important cities, and would be worth many times more in a year or two - it's common sense that once IE7 is announced, someone from these cities will have more than $120 to buy his city name.....

I searched "富山市 site:.jp" on google, but it returns only 600 results. I'm pretty sure that's wrong. but any one can tell me if it's sth wrong with my google setting?
Thanks!

Oh! I got it. Because google cleverly thinks 富山市 is chinese, so it actually looks through chinese language sites. If I set to search only japanese pages, it returns about 1M.

great.

great.

Search Google.co.jp instead that gives:

2,170,000

Even better for Japan use Yahoo, which dominates the search market in Japan.
