Re: Russian dot coms sold at IDNFs

Well, we all agree that Russian .coms are probably either #1 or #2 money earners. While it's not prudent to extrapolate future earnings based on current stats, that status quo could remain after IE7 is released.

Well, no we don't actually.

Based on actual earnings, I would have to rank as follows:

#1 Arabic
#2 Chinese
#3 Japanese
#4 Russian
#5 Thai
#6 Farsi

If I make allowances for quality of names registered then I would have to say that my quality in Japanese is comparatively poor, so Japanese are probably the best earners overall.

I think each language will rapidly or less rapidly reach its full potential according to its status in terms of demographics and economic development.

Russian will take time sometime to overtake Japan and probably doesn't have the potential of Chinese or even Arabic. It will nevertheless be very important.

Re: Russian dot coms sold at IDNFs

This really depends on alot of factors.

Looking at earnings per name I get this:

1. Farsi
2. Arabic
3. Russian

But I'm guessing this exercise would have different results for everyone.

Re: Russian dot coms sold at IDNFs

My Chinese traffic made me the most money. I like Chinese domains, and I enjoy watching how they perform.

Hehe, i didn't want to comment, but can't help to link to Mao's cat strategy seems to aptly describe your approach!! :p
