It's also worth remembering that a lot of us are sitting on lists of "possibles" i.e. domains we're still thinking about registering. Seeing somebody post something off of one of our lists tends to send us running to see what other similar domains we've already flagged as being "worth a look" so that we can get them/not get them before they're gone.
Again, this issue has come up on just about every domain board I've been a member of, for year after year after year.
Bottom line: if you don't want other people tailgating on your registrations, say NOTHING AT ALL.
