testing dnfocus.com - social news site for domaining
I've been thinking for a while that there are going to be a lot of changes in domaining & lot more interest coming soon.
So months ago I bought dnfocus.com with the intent on building a social news site for domaining. It basically works like Digg.com users submit articles & the most popular stories make it to the front page. I tried putting a link to it today but I'm using dreamhost for the site & I'm thinking dreamhost isn't good for database driven sites. Anyway give it a try if you have domaining articles on your site, blog, even forums you can put them up. The site is: www.dnfocus.com The goal is to having a domaining news site that integrates all aspects of domaining together. It's still in beta & the hosting there is unreliable expect hiccups. I'm just being real.

Pretty Cool site , I signed up last night and can see it taking off.
I get tired of going to DNJ & Domaining blog to only find the same content , so its nice to have a resource where we can get some good reads that we may not have found on our own.

On the subject of hosting, what would you recommend for Japan?

Alot of people use Lolipop servers lollipop.jp
But you can use Verio viaverio.com & choose to host in a datacenter in Japan. Verio was bought by NTT a few years ago. Prices are over $100 a month for a VPS (Virtual Private Server) I'm not sure about smaller accounts perhaps verio.com has some datacenters in Japan. The thing is I'm not sure if even Japanese hosting companies have their servers actually in Japan. For static sites anything is usually fine, for database driven sites this is where you need better hosting. Also thanks guys for signing up, as soon as I put the link up initially the server started to act up. That's why I pulled the first time I posted it. Anyway I just wanted to try something different.
