I just noticed that JP-Domains transliterated the registrant's name (if it's in English) into Katakana when shown on JP-whois. I wonder if they do it manually or some phonetic script.
Transliteration scripts are fairly simple except when moving for Arabic to Latin characters. If they don't write the vowels, how do you get the machine to guess them?!?*?
They might do them manually
I think when you guys use them, your registrations aren't in real time.
I've had members post things that didn't seem registered yet that I deleted the post to protect them.
I've done this several times this year.
The other reason why I think it's manual is because they seem to write you guys names in katakana too. I personally don't know if this can be done with a script.
