Re: Japanese IE7 Released.

Exciting really,
I have never had visitors to my city domains before, but this morning I noticed that few city domains got traffics. eg 堺市.com, 1 view and 8 searches. I think now is really the time to develop. I guess the excited visitor to 堺市.com will never visit it again since he didn't find what he was looking for after conducting 8 searches.

No problem, I still prefer the "Happy Happy Joy Joy" Song

"Happy Happy Joy Joy" from Ren & Stimpy

Hello, boys and girls. This is your old pal, Stinky Weaselteats.

This is a song about a whale. No! This is a song about being happy!

That's right! It's the Happy Happy Joy Joy song!

[chorus] Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy! I don't think you're happy enough! That's right! I'll teach you to be happy! I'll teach your grandmother to suck eggs! Now, boys and girls, let's try it again! [chorus]

If'n you aint the grandaddy of all liars! The little critters of nature... They don't know that they're ugly! That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumblebee! I told you I'd shoot! But you didn't believe me! Why didn't you believe me?!

[chorus without last line] Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!

"Sing 'Happy Happy Joy Joy'. Repeat until death sets you free."

Re: Japanese IE7 Released.

I am very pleased.

But let's just set expectations among us that natural traffic in Japan will take some time. They still have to learn to enter URLs into the URL bar first. It will take development of key sites and advertisement of those key branded sites before people start generating lots of natural traffic. Until then we keep fingers crossed!

RD posted this disappointing bit on the other forum.

As with the English version, we’re making the localized downloads available a few weeks ahead of distribution via Automatic Updates. German, French, Spanish and Finnish users should be prepared for AU distribution by mid-November. Japanese AU distribution will begin this spring.

Re: Japanese IE7 Released.

Whilst this pisses me off to no end. I have posted my say on their blog as Japanese was listed as one of the first to be AU.

But I have to quote this post as I find it hilarious, and most likely MS will have it removed.

Sorry IE7 should be named "operation keep the yellows from being able to navigate in their own language" Whilst it makes no difference to the europeans.

Congrats Microsoft. You've shown your true racist colors.

I really hope a news org runs a racist slant on this. As it really does look that way.

Re: Japanese IE7 Released.

I think I might be out there with this one
But I think it was a decision so they can launch a marketing campaign.
New Browser, New System new upgrades
Calling for a lot of money going to Microsoft.
Don't like it either but that's just my thoughts.

Re: Japanese IE7 Released.

It is nice to see a few white guys standing up with the oppressed for a change, now that it has touched their economic interest (ie. their Asian domains don't resolve). Charming.

Have you tried development? Type-in traffic is actually only 20-30% of traffic for most idns, even european idns. Indexing is more important.

Thanks Touch, I'm actually being sarcastic. I have quite a few sites up and running and where I was making pennies a day, now making $$/day. So it gives me hope.

Yes, but it appears we have all been stabbed in the back by Microsoft who are not letting Japanese IE7 go Auto Updates until sometime in the Spring.

It all sounds like like US interests colluding to try to prevent Japanese internet development moving forward.
