Yahoo Japan seems to be giving some good exposure to IE7

Re: Yahoo Japan talks up IE7

Good news... i'd wish there was a stronger focus on the IDN capabilities of IE7 though, its not "just another release".

The most important thing initially is that they download it. The language support comprehension will come clear later. The download statistics will drive conversion by large corporates to IDN Urls. That content will help to drive traffic.

Definitely, but how long do we have to wait for these corporations to start using IDNs as main webpages that they can put ads on? I'm 100% behind the idea that it is a matter of when and not if.

I think we're still going to have to see a reasonable amount of comprehension and education to the internet user base before corporations will take that leap of faith.

My hat off to Ikea though.

Take a look here.

http://日本語.jp/

Updates from the Japan Registry.

Also I noticed this as the first link on jprs.jp is

http://使おう.jp/

Looks like they are going to promote both IE7 and Firefox, since MS is delaying the release.

Seems to me to be getting lots of coverage across a broad spectrum of general and technical publications.

OK, this might look a bit more like a C5 taking off than a Space Shuttle, but this bird is going to fly!

From Sarcles page...
I like the way they are beginning to advertise both their ascii and IDN together.

Re: Yahoo Japan talks up IE7

Very rational progression.

Of course the next rational step will be to drop the ASCII as it becomes obsolete!

Yes, and they will. But they need Microsoft to stop jerking them off first!
