1. If it weren't for Bush, we wouldn't have so many stand-up comedians with such great jokes.

Well that desperate midnight 747 flight from Texas to Washington to sign legislation to save that not-really-brain-dead woman was an achievement? No?

Just looking after his own constituency I would guess!

Re: List of Bushes Achievements

Largest number of Whitehouse visitors later indicted for corruption or outed as gay-bashing-but-actually-gay-themselves-meth-users?

Largest # of "medals of freedom" awarded to abject failures?

Re: List of Bushes Achievements

Here is an article on GWB's achievements from the INDIA Daily back in 04', wonder if the writer has done an annual update. (I think this publication should have been called the CIA Daily, what a BJ)

http://www.indiadaily.com/editorial/12-25e-04.asp

And a link for the George Bush countdown clock...which was pretty clever.

Here you go Dave and Drew...distribution rights in your area may still be available. lol

Re: List of Bushes Achievements

Oooooooo! Oooooooo!

How about "first president since Nixon to have "corruption" as the #1 issue listed in exit polls"?

#2 terrorism

#3 economy

What an achievement!

Come on be fair. This is the US Presidency. People don't raise millions of dollars in compaign funds for no serious pay-back. The system demands it and he has delivered in spades!

Re: List of Bushes Achievements

And even a full book on the subject...from the CIAPress no doubt

Editorial Reviews- Book Description
President George W. Bush's first term has been among the most consequential and successful in modern times. Under his leadership, the United States is waging and winning the war against global terrorism. The United States and its coalition partners liberated more than 50 million people from two regimes of extraordinary brutality that had provided safe haven to terrorists. And we are promoting democracy in regions of the world that have never known it. These achievements are anchored in a set of core beliefs: America is a defender and promoter of freedom - and the advance of freedom brings peace. We must lead the world with strength and confidence. Religion should not be banned from the public square. Government should encourage ownership and opportunity, compassion and responsibility. The proper role of government is to create the environment in which small business owners and entrepreneurs will take risks and invest, hire workers and spark economic growth. Such times demand a leader of clear convictions and determination, hope and vision, integrity and the courage to act. These qualities are the hallmarks of the Bush Presidency.

I can think of many:

Significantly better knowledge of geography: Places in the world bombed out by US.

Improved avaibility of Coca-Cola, Budweisers and Big Macs in the Middle East.

Huge rebuilding contracts for American construction companies in Irak.

The flag manufacturers are selling American flags like hotcakes in the Middle East (the nylon ones can only be burned once.)

A nice retirement home in Cuba for elderly statesmen (Guantánamo Bay)

Re: List of Bushes Achievements

OFF TOPIC.

You guys spammed the general discussion section with your political talk, now you move to the International Domain Name News section.

And the funniest thing is, some of those writing the most, don't even live in the US.

Re: List of Bushes Achievements

Hehe, looks like Bush would score even lower in a popularly poll outside of America. No more than 15% i think.

And on this forum, the results are even more skewed when the frustration on waiting for IDNs is channeled towards him.

Where's my traffic? 2 weeks after IE7, still same!!

Re: List of Bushes Achievements

A number of years ago, IBM Canada ordered some parts from a new supplier in Japan. The company noted in its order that acceptable quality allowed for 1.5 per cent defects (a fairly high standard in North America at the time).

The Japanese sent the order, with a few parts packaged separately in plastic. The accompanying letter said: "We don't know why you want 1.5 per cent defective parts, but for your convenience, we've packed them separately."

Re: List of Bushes Achievements

Let's give a warm welcome to Speaker Pelosi...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rep-na...s_b_33529.html

and let's not forget "Subpoena Power….Activate" (greets to John Conyers!), so after a nice collapse of the house of cards, and a double-impeachment, President Pelosi.

All that political capital spent, and this is all Captain Quagmire has to show for it.

>And the funniest thing is, some of those writing the most, don't even live in the US.

You put a nutjob in power with his hand hovering over the biggest nuclear arsenal on the planet and let him preemptively invade a country on a lie, killing 600k innocents and you bet your arse us "foreigners" will have something to say about it. If you don't like that, build your wall, withdraw behind it, and we'll gladly STFU. :^)
