I think, it means, that "траФФик" is correct, and "траФик" is wrong.

Foreign words that enter Russian are spelled in two ways:

1. According to foreign spelling rules: traffic becomes траффик.
2. According to Slavic forms, no double consonants are possible: traffic becomes трафик.

With new words, often both ways of spelling compete with each other for a while until one becomes standard.

трафик - is grammatically correct; траффик - is not, however to be honest it is originated from a foreign word and that's why often misspelled. but again, looking at yandex wordstats: most people obviously do not misspell it. anyway, both has not so many searches, so I persnally wouldn't buy it - however that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy - you can make a nice domain out of it, there is a movie called "Traffic" and I think remembered in Russia exactly with 2 "f"s, and might be use alternatively as a "drugs transfer routes", when trafik (with 1 "f") is used for road/street traffic. just want a potential buyer to be sure, he/she knows as much as possible about what he/she would buy.

filmlion: Remember, we aren't having a public service grammar lesson here, but buying and selling domains. Nor are we in the business of being prescriptive grammarians and teaching Russian web users how to write. You yourself admit that in some cases, this spelling is used. Let it be sold on its own merits. The statistics show that it is indeed a common spellng.
