Rick also said the most important thing was to invest in premium domains, whatever their flavour.

Which is why I spent my IDN investment $ on acquiring the majority of the top 20 thai search terms.

It has taken an awful lot to get this guy to acknowledge publicly that IDN can be be valuable.

He is of course right when he says that Quality matters. I have said over and over again that it is quality that counts.

At this stage of the game it is going to be increasingly difficult to get real quality from fresh regging. Those that have been registering to date have largely been domain professionals. They knew what they were looking for and most of the best stuff is gone.

I firmly believe that the best opportunities for most now lie in the secondary market. Those opportunities are as good, if not better than they have been, or indeed will ever be.

Those that pass up the opportunities on offer without proper investigation will probably regret things later down the road.
