The .jp registry states that the Registered Agent must be a Japanese address.
A few people are taking a risk (some are even registering at Value domain and using jp-domains.com business address as their own.)
For my 2 cents it is worth the extra cost to use jp-domains.com to handle your business. They are quick and
responsive to emails etc. and their service is legitimate and meets the guidlines of the jp registry.
