Here is an IE7 commercial that I found surfing. Looks like they are actually going to promote this one.

Interesting...but kind of boring. They need to hire the Budweiser ad guys, or some of those creative minds that did Superbowl commercials. But glad to see publicity in the works.

Yeah, I was thinking it would be more perfect for a "sims" computer game commercial.

I don't really suppose it makes a huge amount of difference whether they publicise it or not if it going to be part of Automatic Updates.

It is, however, significant that they would appear to be producing commercials. Surely, the final release cannot be too far off now.

Yes, but the automatic updates won't affect anyone other than XP users. Earlier Windows users will have to install themselves.

But you are right, usually commercial leaks are immediatly followed by the actual product. Guess we will have to wait to see.

The only thing bothering me is that Microsoft said there would be another "beta" for Mix06 attendees.

IE7 doesn't work on my Win2k.

That's because the current "beta" only allows for XP use. The public version soon to be out will include all versions of windows.

I know it's an old article but still it was an official plan of Microsoft back then. I'm not aware of any changes in their plans.
