I am sure there are some misguided souls pouring into ASCII.cn simply because they are cheap, but that appears to be a bit short sighted.

In recent monts there has been a huge surge in demand for IDN.CN even though typically they have been about 6 times the price of ASCII.CN.

From CNNIC point of view discounting ASCII makes huge sense as it will help flatter their figures during the Swap Over period.

It may possibly be that there is some uptake of ASCII by bloggers and the like to enter the market at low cost, but the real demand is undoubtedly IDN. Medium to Large companies will already have plenty of ASCII, they are now buying IDN. There is absolutely no doubt where the market is going, and most are now prepared to pay at least ten times the price to get IDN.
