which extension out of .tv / .cc / .ws

Hi again everyone,

Been having a look at some Japanese words this evening, and have come across one with an OVT of 923,447, Google Results of 23 million and Yahoo of 31. There are loads of ads on both Google and Yahoo for this term.

However, the .com and net are both regged, but I would still like to reg the word in another extension to put up a small minisite. However, my problem is deciding which extension to go for ??

The name is still available to reg as either a .cc, .ws or .tv. I prefer the .tv out of these three extensions, though it is the most expensive.

Which extension would you guys go for, if it was a name that you wanted to reg in order to develope - not to simply park it somewhere and wait for an offer.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I tell you what , you reg the .cc and give me some time to search for the term so i can bag the .tv

if you want to develop go for .tv but if the term works with television

I would try .ws if you are looking to get some search engine traffic or to resell it .

Why not all three?
.TV might be the best, but if you intend to develop a bit, wouldn't having the other two give you an assurance that no one else will put up a minisite and dilute what might come your way?

That's pretty cold Alph...

High Overture can be deceptive (sometimes)
Make sure the term has google trends also.
See if it's a Yahoo category...
A few of my Japanese terms have overture that high but not anything on Google trends.
If it's one of the domains I own you can PM me...
There's only one or two that I still have no clue why the overture is so high.

I have seen some Japanese .tv sites , quite a few Chinese .cc and I have noted a lot regged by chinese.

.ws - an also ran- I agree with DG - "waste of space"

But - for development purposes - does it matter?

I would go for .tv, especially if your future sites is vidoe related.

Doesnt George Bush actually have a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp ??? Not sure of the fish smell though, but some of his actions are fishy to say the least.

I have done a check on Google trends, and there are some for this word that stretch back to 2004 and seem quite steady through the past 3 years.

I also was able to find the Bidtool for Overture - which I couldnt find yesterday. Out of the 40 ads for this word, the first 25 are paying between 100 - 165 Y ( $1.45 - $0.85 ). Not extremely high, but there does seem to be a lot of ads for this word.

I'll most likely go for the .tv later today, and might also take the .ws as well. I'll let you know when I have made my reg, and then if anyone wants the .cc, they are free to it. - I have never been a fan of .cc, but there might be others who like it.
