Moniker Auction Results

https://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/index.html

A bit underwhelming really. Half the results on this list are less than my commissionless IDN transactions struck whilst listening to the bloody thing.

Re: Moniker Auction Results

Why "privacy" at that price.
Not a word I would think would be highly searched or typed in.
They others make more sense.

The auction runs thru next Wednesday March 14th at 12 noon. So...still some time to go.

Just a sidenote about the silent auction:
QUOTE FROM MONIKER: For the current auction we had over 50,000 domains submitted. Only 3,300 were chosen.

Wow...they are some nice names.

Still chicken feed for what they'll be worth in 5 - 10 years...don't you reckon?

Yes, top Generics in ASCII will go up many times, but 2117 money isn't 2007 money. I think there will be a shake out in ASCII but only as people start to understand that quality matters.

Porn and other Adult areas are higher risk than some generics, but the rewards are clearly high at the moment.

What I am finding a little difficult to grasp is why sophisticated bidders would come out and put their cards on the table with the Auction still having time to run!

Yes, it's "Health Maintenance Organization". There should be an enormous amount of type-in on that domain from americans.

Re: Moniker Auction Results

Simply amazing! Never thought "silent" could race ahead of the main event. Would this mark the end of live auction?

I am still trying to get clarification, the list was posted by RJ - on a NP's thread and there has been no overnight changes - I think! , http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...ommentary.html , I suppose it could be reserve prices but I have a name on there that is certainly not my reserve.

And as RD said earlier, seems to be an early show of hands if this is the case! Also the figures are from the list of names that went from "live" to "silent" - the "silent auction" names have only a few bids- all seems a bit weird.

Will keep checking.

So another example of institutionalised failure then?

It would seem that people don't even know how the bidding is panning out!

Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me!

Low reserves requires confidence in a robust market.

All I am seeing at the moment is shambles!
