i think it means station shopping street guide (ekigaigaido)
all the links from this page goto a Japanese language domain in the following format:
town name + station
its a massive directory site with links mostly to a google maps page searched with businesses related to the link
anyone seen anything similar?

Yeah, Japanese Registry promoting its own Japanese domain names. Weird, huh! :confused:

I've seen this while checking on some smaller japanese city names .jp - they are reserved, but they link to a "station" page like that.

Japan registry launched that & had a bit of support from Google & Yahoo Japan from the press releases.
They also made a hanami guide.
The domains come up pretty well in SERPs.
They've always tried to show useful ways of using IDNs.

The Japanese registry actually took some of the best IDNs for themselves, and developed some of them.
