Browser share by catagory by this companies analysis shows IE7 at 33%.

Does it say global or US market? Clearly this does not apply to asian markets right?

It didn't say, but there can't be much Asian factor at this point.
Do you guys get any internal stats on things like this from MS?

Japan's usage of IE7 has risen from the low one digits to the low teens according to quite a few folks here with Japanese sites.

IE7 stats are pointless if Browser language isn't used as a filter.

From one of my Japanese sites for the last month, I get:

1. 6.0, 1,526, 96.46%
2. 5.5, 27, 1.71%
3. 5.0, 19, 1.20%
4. 5.01, 6, 0.38%
5. 5.23, 3, 0.19%
6. 7.0, 1, 0.06%

Where IE has 93.7% market share.

1 visit from IE7 LOL.

Here's IE browser version share from another Japanese site:

1. 6.0, 462, 89.02%
2. 5.0, 13, 2.50%
3. 5.23, 12, 2.31%
4. 7.0, 8, 1.54%
5. 5.17, 7, 1.35%
6. 5.22, 6, 1.16%
7. 5.5, 5, 0.96%
8. 5.16, 3, 0.58%
9. 5.12, 1, 0.19%
10. 5.14, 1, 0.19%

Anyone else have data to share?

Let's repeat again so everyone is clear. If you are using Google Analytics, you need to disregard IE7 stats. Google do not report them correctly. That is 100% clear to me.

We got a few Google reps working closely with us lately at my job & I'm going to try to point out incomparability issues.
Before we didn't have pagerank on IDNs & they worked on it.
So the best thing is if you use global services that is not IDN compatible, inform them.

I told them six months ago via their forum - they didn't even have the courtesy to respond.
