If you see an ad with:

www. http://www.sportsworldny.com/forums/html/forumicons/soccer-ball.gif .TV

or

www. http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/457588/2/istockphoto_457588_old_television.jpg.TV

What would you type? self explanatory or most users wont 'get it'?

Well NBC.com uses http://www.tvjab.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/nbc.thumbnail.jpg .COM

Also sometimes when im watching the weather channel they use Weather+Plus.com

Kinda tricky, because depending on where you live, your education and/or net-savvy, you could type a host of things.

soccer.tv, football.tv, futbol.tv, soccerball.tv, soccer-ball.tv, etc.

In genius's example, the peacock is a well recognized brand within the U.S. so NBC.tv comes almost natural.
It would be the same if you had a coke bottle in your example. (Although even here someone could type coke or coca-cola).

So what I'm basically saying is: you'll have traffic bleeds to other domains, and unless you own them all, I think you should consider other alternatives.

I agree with Yanni.

From a completely literal standpoint though, in answering the question you asked above, my answers would be:

soccer.tv
tv.tv
