Our dear Mr Snow registered työpaikat.com, info, and biz many years ago - somehow he missed the .net and a Finn got it.
As foreigners can't buy .fi domains, työpaikat.fi is owned by a Finn and has been developed a bit, forwarding to tyopaikat.fi for now probably due to the high concentration of Firefox users in Finland.
Very interesting to you who are interested in economics, the google trends for the term "työpaikat" over the past several years. Note two things: 1) job searches drop sharply in the summer and at Christmas, and 2) the overall search volume has gone down over the past several years and I can verify that unemployment has dropped in Finland during that time.
