I've only recently learned about the dnlocal chat. I've spent some time there but nobody seems to stay enough time so we can actually start talking. that's probably because it's a web based chat and people tend to close their browsers. also the web based chat doesn't provide means of notifying the user when someone joins the chat or says something. so people leave the chat tab open but check it only once a few hours and miss when someone else is there. using an IRC based chatroom would solve all these problems, so I made a channel on irc.freenode.net - #IDNs
to access IRC you need to download some IRC client. the most popular is mIRC

when you're done installing type /server irc.freenode.net and then /join #idns
